Accused 14-year-old arrested in connection to the crime

Police have arrested a minor boy for raping a 100-year-old woman Tangail’s Madhupur upazila on Tuesday.

The accused, Sohel Mia, 14, broke into the victim’s house in Angaria village of Madhupur on Tuesday around 6pm, covered her mouth and raped her.

According to locals, the woman could not walk properly due to old age. She fell sick after the incident but her family did not take her to a hospital due to fear of social embarrassment.

Police arrived in the spot on Wednesday evening and later arrested Sohel from his home.

Officer-in-Charge of Modhupur police station Tarik Kamal confirmed the incident and the victim’s son, Dudu Miah, has filed a case with them in this regard.
