Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been given lifetime membership of Dhaka University Central Student Parliament (DUCSU).
The decision was taken according to the majority’s opinion at DUCSU Executive Council meeting held at DUCSU Bhaban on Thursday with Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor (VC) and also the DUCSU President Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman in the chair.
However, the VP Nurul Haq Nur along with secretary to social service affairs Akhter Hossain opposed the decision.
A total of 25 leaders of DUCSU and 234 hall union representatives were elected after 28 years. The last DUCSU polls were held in 1990.
