The Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina approved the proposed national budget of 2019-20 fiscal to be placed by Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal on Thursday (today).

The Cabinet at a special meeting approved the budget for the fiscal year 2019-2020.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting held at the cabinet room of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
The finance minister is scheduled to place budget of 2019-20 fiscal at 3:00pm.

AHM Mustafa Kamal has reached the parliament for presenting national budget.

This will be the country’s 48th budget and the 20th of the Awami League government in five terms while Tajuddin Ahmed presented the first budget as the finance minister of the post-independence Bangabandhu government in 1972.

This year, the size of the budget will be around Tk 523,190 crore.

The budget will be a “Smart” one with the title “Samridha Agamir Pathajatrai Bangladesh: Samay Ekhon Amader, Samay Ekhon Bangladesher”, according to a press release of the finance ministry on Wednesday.
