A student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) was allegedly beaten to death at his dorm Sher-e-Bangla Hall early Monday (Oct 7).

The deceased was identified as Abrar Fahad, a second year student of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

BUET Dr. Mashuk Elahi told Banglanews that, after receiving news from other students around 3am, he saw the body of Fahad lying between the first and second floor of Sher Bangla Hall.

There were marks of injury in his legs and thighs. He could have died of assault, he added.

Later, BUET authority and police were informed.

He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 6:30am.

Chawkbazar police station officer in charge Sohrab Hossain told Banglanews that they are trying get details about the incident.
