Md Musharaf Hossain of Sherpur: After a brief discussion on the occasion of National Nutrition Week (April 23 to April 29) -2021 in Nakla Upazila of Sherpur, food items have been distributed among poor families of the upazila on Wednesday noon.
On this occasion, a limited distribution program was organized in front of the upazila parishad complex in accordance with all the instructions of the government. The program was organized by the upazila administration and upazila health department.
The food packets were handed over to 140 poor family heads in different areas of the upazila under the slogan ‘Think about food, think about nutrition’. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Zahidur Rahman presided over the distribution program.
Upazila parishad vice-chairman Mohammad Saroar Alam Talukder, upazila health and F.P officer Dr Mohammad Gulam Mostafa, medical officer Dr Md Kamruzzaman, dental surgeon Dr Nazmus Shakib, medical technologist Abu Kawsar Bidyut, Sub-assistant Community medical officer Mostafizur Rahman, Nakla Press Club treasurer Abdullah Al-Amin and member Md Mofazzal Hossain and other officials of upazila administration and upazila health complex were present.
It is learned that in each packet of distributed food, 5 kg of good quality rice, 3 kg of potato, 1 kg of oil, salt and onion; 500 grams of gram (boot) and lentils were given.
