Sherpur: DistrictDetective Branch (DB) police arrested a drug dealer named Rakibul Hasan Raju(28), son of Israfil Mia, in west Gauripur area under Sherpur town of Sherpurdistrict. He handed over to Sherpur court in a regular case under the NarcoticsAct on Saturday afternoon.

Rajuwas arrested along with 3 grams of heroin in a raid in west Gauripur area ofSherpur town on Friday midnight on the basis of secret information. DBpolice sources said that drug dealer Rakibul Hasan Raju was arrested with 3grams of heroin in a raid in the west Gauripur area of Sherpur town along with SIAzizul Haque on Friday midnight. He was later arrested under the Narcotics Actand handed over to the court. MansurAhmed Officer-in-Charge of DB said that regular operations are being carriedout to make Sherpur drug-free under the direction of Sherpur Superintendent ofPolice Hasan Nahid Chowdhury and overall supervision of AdditionalSuperintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Mohammad Hannan Mia. They said suchcampaigns would continue for the welfare of the country and the nation.
