Asst. Proctor steps down over trimming students’ hair

Farhana Yasmin, a teacher accused of trimming the hair of 16 students of Rabindra University in Sirajganj, has resigned from three posts.
She resigned from the posts of the chairperson of the Department of Cultural Heritage, Bangladesh Studies, and assistant proctor and member of the Proctorial Board. Additional Vice-Chancellor and Treasurer Abdul Latif said a five-member inquiry committee has been formed to probe the incident.

After receiving the report, action will be taken in this regard. Meanwhile, students have started a hunger strike on campus demanding the permanent removal of the accused teacher Farhana Yasmin.
