Court orders to confiscate properties of Journalist Kanak Sarwar, Major (retd) Delwar

Fugitive accused in case filed under the Shahbagh Police Station Digital Security Act. The court ordered the seizure of the property of two people, including Kanak Sarwar. The other accused is (retired) Major Delwar Hossain.

On Tuesday (November 23), the court of Dhaka Cyber ​​Tribunal Assam judge Jaglul Hossain ordered the seizure of the assets of the two accused. At the same time, the presentation of the report in this regard was scheduled for 13 December.

On Tuesday (November 23), Dhaka Cyber ​​Tribunal Assamese judge Jaglul Hossain accepted the indictment in the case and issued arrest warrants against the two accused.

It can be mentioned that defendant Journalist Kanak Sarwar and (retired) Major Delwar Hossain have used digital media to spread offensive, false, defamatory and provocative information against important individuals and organizations in the state. He also spread satirical information about former Attorney General Mahbubey Alam and the army chief.

In October 2020, a lawsuit was filed against them under the Digital Security Act at the Shahbagh Police Station. Shahbagh (SI) Police Station Sub-Inspector Mohammad Russell Mollah, the investigating officer in the case, filed a complaint against the two accused.
